EDC Demonstration Plant

Chemetry spent over three years in our Pilot Plant developing our first product – the eShuttle® EDC Process. EDC is short for Ethylene Dichloride, which is the key intermediate in producing PVC Resin. Zeton in Ontario Canada is building the Demonstration Plant right now, as shown in the videos and photos. This plant will make 3 tons per day of EDC and just over 3 tons per day of caustic soda using our eShuttle® EDC process and will be operated by Braskem in Maceio Brazil.

looking ahead 2023

This plant will be operational in mid-2023. Current and potential producers of caustic, chlorine, PVC Resin, and the intermediates in the vinyl industry will be able to tour the plant once it is up and running. The Demo Plant is the last development step before we are able to start licensing the eShuttle® process around the world, greatly improving the carbon footprint and sustainability of this critical plastic material.
